Auto Import is a new feature in djay Pro for Mac that allows your music library to stay updated automatically by detecting newly downloaded tracks on your hard drive and adding them to My Collection in djay. This eliminates the need to manually import new songs, making music management faster and more seamless.
How do I set up Auto Import?
- Open djay's in-app settings menu.
- Navigate to the Library tab.
- Under Import, Select a folder on your specific drive where newly downloaded songs will be stored.
- djay will now automatically monitor this folder and import new tracks as they appear.
Note: djay will not show/import songs in subfolders of (primary) folders you have already selected for auto import in djay's settings menu.
Will Auto Import duplicate my tracks?
No, Auto Import only adds new tracks that haven’t been imported yet. If a song already exists in My Collection, it won’t be duplicated.
Does Auto Import support external drives?
Yes! You can set your Auto Import folder to an external hard drive, allowing djay to automatically sync new tracks from an external source.
What if I delete a track from My Collection?
Deleting a track from My Collection in djay does not remove it from your hard drive. However, if the same track remains in the Auto Import folder, it may be re-imported.
Does Auto Import work with streaming services?
No, Auto Import is designed for locally stored music files on your hard drive. It does not sync or import tracks from streaming services like Apple Music, TIDAL, or SoundCloud.
What happens if I disable Auto Import?
Disabling Auto Import will stop djay from automatically detecting new tracks, but any songs that were previously imported will remain in My Collection.
