What operation mode should I use with the Pioneer DDJ-SR / DDJ-SX in djay Pro?
The Pioneer DDJ-SR and DDJ-SX can operate in two different modes. djay Pro supports the default operation mode, which offers the most powerful features and is intended for use with the software originally bundled with the controller.
If the controller has been switched to the alternative MIDI-compatible mode for use with other DJ software, we recommend switching it back to the default mode. This enables djay Pro to use advanced features such as:
- Beat-synchronized effects when using PAD PLUS mode (DDJ-SR)
- Displaying vinyl position information on the jog wheels (DDJ-SX)
Setting the Default Operation Mode
- Quit djay Pro or any other DJ software.
- Turn the controller off using the rear-panel power switch.
- Turn the controller on while holding the left deck’s SHIFT + PLAY/PAUSE buttons.
- Wait for the startup LED sequence to finish (about 5 seconds).
- Press the left deck’s KEY LOCK button so it is off.
- Turn the controller off again.
- Turn it back on and launch djay Pro.
The controller is now back in its default Operation Mode and ready to use with djay Pro!
