Effects section
The Effects section gives you full creative control over how you shape your sound. From detailed manual adjustments to one-click instant effects and expressive X/Y pad gestures, you can choose the workflow that best matches your style. The Effects section is a central hub for customizing and performing with FX in djay.
To open the Effects section, click the Tools icon in the main toolbar.
You can use the FX section in three modes:
- Manual
- Instant
- Pad
Manual
Access up to three effects per deck and change them by clicking the effect name. Use the controls next to each effect to turn them on/off, adjust the dry/wet mix, and control effect intensity.
Click the effect name to switch FX type and route each effect to the drums, harmonic, or vocal stems using FX routing.
Instant
Quickly access eight one-click effects. Use Edit Mode (pencil icon) to customize which effects are shown in the panel. You can also choose how effects are triggered. You can either tap or hold to trigger the effect manually, or activate Hold mode to keep the effect engaged automatically.
When the Hold icon is highlighted in blue, it means the effect will stay on until you turn it off.
Pad
Use the X/Y pad to control the selected FX with intuitive trackpad or mouse gestures. On a trackpad, use two fingers to adjust. Like in Manual mode, you can route FX to drums, harmonics, or vocals.
The Effects section and Effects toolbar duplicate the same functionality, so we recommend customizing your layout to get the most of your effects.
