Deck views
djay offers multiple deck views so you can choose the layout that best fits your style, needs, and setup. You can switch between them via the Dashboard.
Tap the Dashboard button to open the View Modes menu, where you can switch between the deck layouts.
Starter is the easiest place to begin if you're new to DJing.
Automix keeps the music going on its own when you just want a continuous, hands-free mix.
Classic gives you the traditional two-deck setup.
Pro puts the advanced DJ tools front and center.
We'll look at all the view modes below.
djay adapts to your device orientation, whether vertical or horizontal. Positioning your device horizontally provides more screen space and mimics the standard DJ layout, which can make mixing easier.
Starter
The Starter view simplifies the interface by focusing on essential functions, so you can learn the basics right away.
When using the crossfader to mix the tracks, they are automatically tempo-blended. This means that djay automatically syncs the tempo between decks as you move it, and tracks blend smoothly together without manual beatmatching. For the full range of Crossfader FX effects, see Crossfader FX.
Automix
Automix mode automates track transitions, allowing you to step away from the decks without interrupting the playback. It's useful for playing continuous background music or for getting started quickly.

Classic
The default Classic view displays the decks as virtual turntables, emulating the feel of a vinyl setup to build familiarity.
Pro
The Pro view replaces the turntables with jog wheels, detailed track information, scrolling waveforms, and access to advanced performance tools.
You can switch the waveform between horizontal and vertical from the main UI.
Looper
The Looper view focuses on djay’s Looper and Sampler tools. Use Looper to layer sounds, build textures, and create grooves live. Sampler lets you trigger one-shots and audio clips in sync with the beat.

One Deck
The One Deck view lets you focus on a single track at a time, perfect for preparing your set or casual listening.
One Deck clears away the crossfader, second deck, and mixer controls, so it gives you more screen space than any other view. That's what makes it the ideal view to use when you're getting ready for a set rather than performing one. Use it to:
- Create and manage playlists
- Set cue points
- Set loops
- Set Automix start and end points
- Adjust a track's beatgrid on the expanded, full-screen waveform
- Browse and audition new tracks, for music discovery or casual listening
One Deck can also be used to play your tracks in a playlist straight through, one after the other. This might be preferrable to using Automix which transitions between the songs. In One Deck mode, when the track you're playing reaches its end, djay automatically loads the next track from your playlist. That makes it a good fit for anything where you just want your music to keep going on its own, background music at an event, a long recording session, or casual listening, without having the transitions the way you would with Automix.
To set this up:
- Go to Settings > General > Song Loading and turn on Start Playback.
- Switch to One Deck view.
- Load the first track in your playlist and tap play.
4 Decks
The 4 Decks view lets you layer multiple tracks, acapellas, and loops simultaneously. It works like the 2-deck layout but includes additional controls to manage four sources at once.
Video
The Video view enables video mixing so you can blend visuals alongside your music. This mode is designed for DJs who want to add a visual element to their performances.
