Deck views and additional options

djay offers multiple deck views so you can choose the layout that best fits your style, needs, and setup. You can switch between different deck views using the View Modes dropdown menu.

Choose to display audio waveforms horizontally or vertically, and adjust the layout using the Position options. You can also show jog wheels, vinyl turntables, or hide both.

note

Vertical waveforms save space and allow for a more compact layout. Horizontal waveforms show a longer section of the scrolling track.

Two Decks

The default layout in djay Pro displays two decks with virtual jog wheels that emulate the look and feel of traditional DJ hardware.

One Deck

The One Deck view lets you focus on a single track at a time—perfect for preparing your set or casual listening. You can quickly browse through your collection, skip to the previous or next track in your playlist, or play and pause the current song.

One deck view

Use the one deck view to listen and prepare your music by using:

  • Cue points
  • Automix start and end points
  • Loops and beat skip
tip

Use One deck to prepare your music without the clutter of extra decks.

Automix

With Automix view, djay handles the transitions so you can relax or focus on what’s next. Whether you’re hosting a party, testing new tracks, or stepping away from the decks, Automix keeps the music flowing.

You can find out more information in the Automix section.

Four Decks

Similar to the two-deck layout, but with a few changes to the interface to fit the extra controls.

note

Use the options in the View modes menu to customize the layout to suit your workflow.

Crossfader routing

In four-deck mode, you can assign each deck to a side of the crossfader or bypass it entirely.

Deck routing options:

  • Left (crossfader channel)
  • Thru (deck ignores the crossfader)
  • Right (crossfader channel)

tip

If you're using three or more decks, consider setting the crossfader to Thru and use the channel volume faders instead—unless you're doing crossfader tricks or cuts.

Four decks layout

With the four-deck view, you can switch between:

  • A vertical layout (all four waveforms on top of each other)
  • A horizontal layout (all four waveforms alongside each other)

Show mixer

When you connect a MIDI controller, a Show Mixer button appears in the main toolbar. This lets you toggle the virtual mixer on or off, helping you streamline the interface and remove controls you may not need while using your hardware.
