Recording using an external mixer

When you’re mixing on external hardware, djay can’t capture the main output internally, since each deck’s audio is routed outside the software.

The good news is that if your mixer includes a dedicated REC OUT port, you can still record your set by routing that signal back into djay through a spare input.

How to set up an external mixer

1. Open Settings.
2. Click on Audio Devices.
3. Select External Mixer mode.
4. Change the Recording Input to one of your mixer’s available output channels.
5. Save and close preferences.

Depending on your mixer, you may need to connect a physical audio cable from the REC OUT port to the correct input channel on your audio interface or mixer.
